Have a need to fix slow computers? The reasons for slow computers are varied.

Not Enough Hard Drive Space - for a faster PC there should be at least 1-2 GB of free hard drive space to enable the computer to use it as a backup memory for running programs or temporary files in the absence of enough RAM.

Hard Drive Damaged or Fragmented – check to ensure that there is no physical damage on the hard drive. Run Defragmenter to ensure that data is arranged in the best possible order.

Background Programs Running – remove or disable any unwanted programs or service that automatically loads each time the computer boots. If you use any antivirus software, make sure the scanner is not running in the background when you are doing any important activity because it may affect the performance of your computer.

Malware Scan – malwares such as viruses and spyware are an increasing threat to computers that are connected on internet and a big cause of many slow computer problems.

Hardware Conflicts – verify in Device Manager for device conflicts. Fix these issues as they could be the cause of slow system performance.

Windows Update – make sure all the latest updates for Windows are installed.

Drivers Update – having outdated drivers can cause an assortment of issues.

Memory Upgrade – Memory (RAM) is the second most important resource a computer has. Having too little RAM considerably slows the system down. RAM provides more disk space for your computer so the more RAM you have the faster your computer will be.
